Windows 10 missing Drivers After Install on Macbook Pro Retina. After you install windows you need to install the proper drivers from the apple software update to run windows 10 under bootcamp. I had Windows 8.1 running on my MacBook pro perfectly fine and I just went to Windows 10 and I did not transfer apps or files over, I wanted a.
Great way to expand storage if you have a SSD. Although I only got the 64GB I suggest just spend the money to get the 128GB. Very easy to insert however tough to remove! So this is something you'll want to just install and 'leave it alone'. Not sure how it will hold up with frequent inserting and removing.
Leaving the card in while putting the Mac to sleep and waking there is no issues. Shutting down and restarting again no issues. Read Write speeds - well Read speeds is where its at (i.e. watching vids). Formatted stock as EX-FAT. Not sure why as this is a device made to fit the MacBook Pro's SD card slot.

Thus I reformatted it to HFS by Disk Util. Some say not to do this as it messes up the read/write. It's confirmed by me. This adapter works perfectly in my Lenovo Yoga 700 Windows Laptop. I also have the SanDisk 200gb Micro SD card installed.
Doesn't have to be a Apple computer. As far as I can tell this adapter works well with any SD card slot that a full size SD card sticks out of. 17mm is the magic length number. To test if this will physically work for you. Insert a standard SD card in the slot. Draw a pencil line along the section sticking out of the slot. Now pull it out.
If the section that goes in the slot is no less than 17mm then this adapter should work. I also tried it in a couple of half length USB SD card readers. Works just fine.
I'm leaving this adapter/mem card in my laptop permanently. Always test the SD card. Fits very nicely in my Acer Chromebook 15 CB5-571-C09S. I wanted to add expansion to my Chromebook but a regular SD card stuck out about half of the card.
With the dimensions given on the details and by other reviews this looked to be the closest to what I was looking for. This still sticks out just enough to get a fingernail into the groove to allow you to remove the card easily. The card does not sit evenly and sticks out ever so slightly more on one edge than the other, but it stays nicely in the Chromebook.
This was an easy storage upgrade for my 2014 MacBook Air so I love it. Couple things to note 1) I love how flush the card is when inserted 2) Don't forget to format your card (not sure why they this isn't done) when you purchase it. Command + spacebar and type 'disk utility'.
Then click on the card, select erase, and select the OS X Extended (Journaled) option 3) Download the JetDrive Toolbox from Transcend., click on support support & download. Then click on 'Apple Solutions' and work your way down (like Jet Drive lite on the left for my macbook air) 4) Once that is installed, for my MacBook air, click on the JetDrive Lite tab at the top, and make sure under 'Power Save' you have it clicked to On. At first, it was strange because I assumed the Transcend drive would. I bought the 128 GB version of this card for use on my MacBook Pro. It sits comfortably in the sd slot flush with the side of the laptop and is hardly noticeable and, since I also use Transcend cards in my digital camera and have not had any trouble with them, I felt comfortable using one of their cards as expansion memory.
I bought this specifically to hold the digital raw images my family takes when traveling for processing so that they don't take up space on my main SSD which is only 512 GB. The card works well, although it is noticeably slower than my SSD, and I have found that some photo editing software has a problem processing images if they reside on the card. In addition, since the card is designed to sit in the sd slot semi-permanently (it can be removed but, since it.
After installing a USB 3.0 card in my computer, I wanted some way to start using multiple 3.0 devices which is why I made this purchase. It was very easy to set up and I do get much faster speeds through it that I did with 2.0. The only issue I have with this unit is that I can't have something in the SD slot and USB slot at the same time.
For example when I have a flash drive plugged in, and then put in a SD card nothing happens. If I remove the flash drive and then plug in the SD card it comes right up. This is a minor annoyance but keeps it from getting a perfect rating. I was very hopeful for this product.
I often need a card reader and portable USB hub. However, the CF card read does not work. I tried with three different cards.
The SD card reader is fine. I don't own a Mirco SD card so can not comment.
I am returning this product to Amazon. Sabrent contacted me after seeing my review. We tried to work the problem, I did try the card upside down etc. They were kind enough to provide me with a replacement and this reader works great.
